Tanya Schulz Peterson, DDS
General & Esthetic Dentistry
- I was born and raised in Burnsville, MN, and attended the College of St. Benedict and St. Cloud University, where I attained my Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science.
- I graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1997.
- Our practice was started as Schulz Family Dental by my father in 1970, and I have worked in all areas of the office since 1987.
- I enjoy volunteering my time to Donated Dental Services in the community.
- I am dedicated to providing excellent dental care in a caring, family-friendly environment. We strive to make our patients comfortable by providing personalized dental care. I believe that our patients will live longer, healthier, and happier lives when their teeth are healthy, look good, and function well.
- I believe that extensive continuing education for myself and my staff is the best way to provide my patients with the most options available.
- I have over 24 years of experience and am highly skilled in all aspects of dentistry.
- My husband, Jeff, and I have a son and a daughter along with a cat and a dog. I enjoy waterskiing, spending time with family and friends, and gardening.

Heidi Smith, DDS
General & Esthetic Dentistry
- I went to the University of MN for undergrad and dental school. Go Gophers!!!
- I love the relationships I get to build with people and the lives I can change by giving someone the smile they’ve always desired.
- I’m passionate about airway issues and sleep-disordered breathing in adults and children. It’s an epidemic that’s negatively impacting our lives and our health. As a dentist, I might be the first person to see the signs and be able to provide early intervention. That’s exciting!
- I’m a continuing education junkie. I travel all over the US keeping up on the latest and greatest in dentistry.
- I’m a member of the St Paul District Dental Society, the MN Dental Association, the American Dental Association, Spear Study Club, and Seattle Study Club.
- I regularly volunteer with Mission Outpost Dental Clinic and Mission of Mercy.
- I grew up in Apple Valley and my husband grew up in Burnsville. We met in high school!
- We have a son who loves football, swimming, and two cats who love eating and sleeping.
- I love to travel. I’ve been to all seven continents! Ask me about my favorite places.
- I love waterskiing and skied in a waterski show for over 15 years. That’s where Dr. Tanya and I met.
- I enjoy reading when I can find the time. If you have a favorite book I’d love to know about it.
