Tanya Schulz Peterson, D.D.S.
Dr. Tanya was born and raised in Burnsville, Minnesota. She attended the College of St. Benedict and St. Cloud State University, where she attained her Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical science. After her undergraduate studies, Dr. Tanya graduated from the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry, where she received her dental degree in 1997. She has worked in all areas of the office at Heart of the City Dental since 1987 with her father, Dr. Bruce Shulz. He has now retired but his philosophy and legacy continue on. Dr. Tanya has also taught at the University of Minnesota in the restorative sciences department and enjoys volunteering for Give Kids a Smile, Donated Dental Services, and Mission of Mercy. She is currently serving as a delegate to the state of Minnesota.
Dr. Tanya has two passions: dentistry and motherhood. She and her husband, Jeff, live in Prior Lake with their son Kaden and daughter Kalia. Their love of the water keeps them busy water skiing, fishing, and paddle-boarding. During Dr. Tanya’s free time, she enjoys gardening, exercising, and visiting with family and friends.
Heidi Smith, D.D.S.
Dr. Heidi was born and raised in Apple Valley. She completed undergraduate and post- graduate studies at the University of Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree with honors in 1997 and a DDS degree in 2003. After receiving her DDS, Dr. Heidi maintained her long-time ties to the University of Minnesota by teaching at their School of Dentistry in the restorative sciences department. Dr. Heidi enjoys volunteering her dental skills at events such as Give Kids a Smile, Project Homeless Connect, and Mission of Mercy. The daily variety and challenges that dentistry offers is Dr. Heidi’s favorite aspect of practicing, and she looks forward to many more years helping patients with their oral health.
In her free time, Dr. Heidi enjoys waterskiing, traveling, and reading. Dr. Heidi and her husband, Brian, have a son, Griffin, and two Siamese cats.
Noah Berge, D.D.S.
Dr. Noah was born and raised in the Twin Cities and worked as an auto mechanic after high school for six years before pursuing his dental career. He then graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Biochemistry. The following year he enrolled at the University Of Minnesota School Of Dentistry. After his graduation in 2011 he has worked in a community clinic providing underserved patients with quality care. Dr. Noah’s special interests include root canal treatment and oral surgery, particularly wisdom tooth removal and implant placement. With his positive and calm demeanor he has a special way of helping his patients feel comfortable and relaxed. Dr. Noah loves to see patients of all ages with a wide range of dental needs. Dr. Noah is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the Academy of General Dentistry.
In 2010 he and his wife, Katie, welcomed identical triplet boys, Aaron, Asher, and Anders, into their family. Dr. Noah is an avid sports fan and enjoys an active lifestyle with his entire family.
Our doctors are members of the ADA (American Dental Association), the MDA (Minnesota Dental Association), the SPDDS (St. Paul District Dental Society), the Spear Education Faculty Club, and multiple local study clubs. They also spend many hours a year attending the best continuing education courses around the country to provide you with the best dentistry. Dr. Tanya and Dr. Heidi have also been chosen several times by Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine and the Burnsville community as Minnesota’s Top Dentists!
